#Transformationaltuesday: Moving
Good morning!
So, my husband and I are very close to owning a house. I am so excited! Not that I don't like our apartment, but there's just something about owning your own house and being able to be free to do whatever you want to it.
I've been packing little by little, and I thought it would be cool to share a few tips that I've been doing for anybody that is moving as well, or that will in the future. Also, I would like any tips from anyone how they packed and moved and what made it run smoothly.
My method of packing is a combination of my mom's idea, and one of my own. I know I am going to have a lot of help, and I will get so overwhelmed if I have to keep telling everyone where everything goes. So I came up with a system: I marked every room with a color/s. Like the living room is yellow, kitchen-pink, bedroom-green, and shed-green+yellow. And each box has the coordinating stickers on them. I will have a big poster board with all the colors on it and everyone can see where everything goes! Now we will actually have to see how that plays out, but its good in theory!
My Mom's idea is label everything. Whenever I pack a box, I write on a 3x5 card everything that is in that box, then I label that box the room it's going in and what number it is (i.e. Guest bedroom- GB2 Etc.) That way I know what I can leave for later to unpack and what is more important.
A tip a friend gave me is to put all your cleaning supplies in your trash can, because it will be the things you need at the very last at a place, they will already be ready to use in the new place. I never would have thought of that.
Please let me know in the comments what are some tips that worked for you!
With excitement and hope,
Emily
